Personality: Peacock is a girl that has escaped into fantasy. Broken, beaten, and abused in the past, when Dr. Avery rebuilt her, her broken mind and her love of cartoons, one of the few things that gave her joy in her old life, shaped her into the being she is today. Her powers are proof of this, something that even the Dr. never foresaw. Creating cartoon creatures, summoning objects from out of nowhere, and even her facial expressions, she truly has become a cartoon character.
As such, she acts more like the older cartoons from the 30’s-60’s, mainly the Tex Avery ones. She’s sarcastic, rude, and very full of herself. She is also quite violent when she is fighting someone, not squeamish at all about killing the bad guys, or beating someone up for getting in her way.
She does have a heart, and is kind to people she likes. Dr. Avery, while she talks back to him and tells him to shut up when her shows are on, she views almost like a father, very upset and pissed when he gets killed, and acts seriously on taking her revenge. She is also very close to Marie, who used to be a girl in the slave trade like she was, but is now the Skullgirl, a being she was created to kill. While Marie was worried Peacock held a grudge on her for running away when she stood up for her, resulting in her eyes getting plucked out, Peacock wasn’t upset at all. She is happy to see that Marie was able to fight the skullheart of so long, only killing slavers and mafia members, but she knows she has to kill Marie. She doesn’t hesitate though, knowing it’s for Marie’s own good, and she hoped that Marie might still survive after destroying the heart, but she doesn’t live for long. She promises Marie to finish what Marie started, and goes after the Mafia and slave traders.
The Mafia and slave traders are some of the few people in the world Peacock truly hates, everyone else she fights or beats up is because they got in her way, annoyed her, or was just business. Even before becoming Peacock, she hated them, and stood up for the other children multiple times, resulting in her being beaten and broken so much.
Backstory: Once a war orphan slave named Patricia, Peacock’s body was gruesomely mutilated by slave traders that captured her. She was rescued by Dr. Avian’s Anti-Skullgirls Labs, and rebuilt with a reality-defying arsenal of biomechanical weaponry: the Argus System augmented her body, and the Avery Unit gave her access to unprecedented weaponry.
Alas, they couldn’t do anything for her mind: Peacock’s damaged psyche and abiding love of cartoons shaped her new “toys” into a terrifying gang of cronies, who she has no qualms using to paint the town red… with blood. Terrifying as she is, she may be the kingdom’s best bet against the Skullgirl.
Soon after being created, she is sent out to follow the skullgirls energy signal. She goes out with her gang of cronies, beating up anyone that gets in her way. However, after finding nothing she gets a call from the Anti-Skullgirls lab, saying that they Skullgirl attacked them. She arrived too late, and the Skullgirl was already gone, Dr. Avian lying on the floor dying. He told her that Valentine, a medical ninja that worked in sector 8, a fellow lab against the skullgirl betrayed them, and let the skullgirl in. Peacock vows to avenge him, and quickly goes after Valentine and the skullgirl.
She soon catches up to the skullgirl, and is shocked to see that the skullgirl was Marie, a close friend of hers when she was a War Orphan. She tries to get close, but is stopped by Valentine and a copy of herself, who she has to fight. It turns out the copy was a creature named double, who works for the Skullgirl and then escapes.
Peacock finds them at the Church, and there she fights and defeats booth Valentine and double. She descends into the catacombs to find Marie down there, surrounded by skeletons and dead bodies. Marie then shows herself, surrounded by the dead bodies of the people that tortured and beat Peacock. Peacock commends Marie for keeping in control for so long, but knows it’s only a matter of time before she loses herself, and starts killing innocent people instead of slavers and Mafioso. She fights Marie and defeats her, sad that she had to kill her friend. Marie doesn’t hold it against her, and is glad it was Peacock her killed her. Peacock decides to continue where Marie left off and went around killing slavers and other crime lords.
A few months after taking down the Medici crime family, Peacock started to go after other crime family and slave traders. One day Avery picks up energy readings coming from the skull heart in a far away land. Not wanting someone else to become like Marie, as well as to have a good fight, she and her cronies follow the readings. After many weeks she finds a dark portal that seems to be the source of the skullheart energy. Without a second thought she jumps in along with her cronies. After what seems like hours she pops out of a warp pipe in the academy, where the hand enrolls her. Finding the situation amusing, she decides to make her own school gang and take out the school.
Anything Else?: Peacock has her group of Cronies with her. Tommy Two-Tons, a 2-ton Weight. Andy Anvil, and Anvil with boxing gloves. Avery, a bird in a dress that helps controls Peacock’s weapons. Lonesome Lenny, a Giant bomb. And many George bombs. They follow Peacocks every command, and assist her in fighting.
In-Character 1st person sample:
Is this thing on? Testing one two. Hey all you nerds, jocks, cheerleaders, and wallflowers out there. The names Peacock, and starting today, my cronies and I run these halls. Try to cause any trouble, or just get in our way, and we’ll make life real tough for ya.
Here are the rules you chumps need to follow. First off, if I see someone beating someone else up and it’s not part of some fighting game, we are going to have problems. Second: No one bothers me when I am watching my morning of afternoon cartoons. That goes for you teachers too. Cartoon time is my me time.
Follow those 2 rules, and we’ll get along swimmingly.
In-Character 3rd person sample:
It was lunch time at the academy, and everyone was enjoying their lunches. Everyone in their little clicks seated at the tables they are allowed to sit at. One table was completely empty, save for a crude drawing of a red headed girl in a purple outfit. People were avoiding this table, even if there was no closer table to sit at.
The doors of the cafeteria burst open, and Peacock along with her cronies strut in. She takes a big puff of her cigar and looks at the food available. “Tommy, Andy, get me some chicken fingers. Extra ketchup, and no veggies. “ The 2 nodded and moved off while peacock strutted to her table. She sat down and place her feet onto the table. A few moments later her 2 cronies arrived with the food.
”Well boys,” Peacock said as she took a bite out of a chicken finger. “Who shall we challenge today?”
Andy was trying to pick up his drink, not succeeding too well due to his boxing gloves. “How about that kid in the green dress? I hear he is some sort of hero.”
Peacock shook her head. “Nah, anyone who dresses like that can’t be a good fighter.”
Tommy pounded his fist on the table. “That gator with the gold necklace has been getting on my nerves. I’m sick and tired of hearing his music in the hallways!”
Peacock swallowed her food then took a drink of her juice. “I’ll put him on the list when I want some gator shoes.”
From out of Peacock’s head pops out Avery. “Squawk! How about that teacher that loves explosions?”
Peacock smiled. ”Great idea. A good fight is always better with lots of explosions. After I finish we’ll crash his class. I wonder how his fireworks will stand up to George.”
Peacock then pulled a George bomb out of thin air and tossed it behind her. The table there cleared out before it blew up. She laughed and took another puff of her cigar.
